What is Activation During Shopping-ADS?

Activation During Shopping is the process that provides you to register to Verified by Visa, while shopping at a participating merchant. Following 3 short and simple steps, you create your credentials that you can use, from that point and on, for all your Verified by Visa transactions.

Why do I have to supply my personal information, during registration on Verified by Visa?

We need to verify that the real cardholder is the one that registers. That is why we ask you for information that your card bears and information that is not on your card, but it is personal. The information you supply is used strictly for your registration only.


Can I use the same credentials for all of my Visa cards?

You have to register each Visa card that you own, individually. Although this is not recommended, you may create the same Password for all of them, but you must set different Username for each one of them.

Always remember that the aim of having these credentials is to maximize your transactions' safety. That is why your credentials must be difficult for someone else to guess.


What is a Username?

The Username is one of the personal codes you create, during your registration on Verified by Visa. Its length should be between 8 and 16 characters. You will submit your Username, in order to enter the 'Cardholder Self-Service' menu.

Moreover, it will appear on the screen where you will submit your Password, during your online transactions to participating merchants. The combined use of Username and Password equals to a personal electronic signature.


What is a Password?

The Password is one of the personal codes you create, during your registration on Verified by Visa. Its length should be between 8 and 16 characters and it must contain at least one numeric character.

You will be asked to submit your Password, every time you purchase at a participating merchant. The combined use of Username and Password equals to a personal electronic signature. Before entering your Password always make sure that your personal Message appears on the screen.

You can change your Password, any time you want through Cardholder Self Services, by going to the Verified by Visa page and clicking on 'Reset Password' option.


What is a Personal Message?

The Personal Message is a short sentence, up to 30 characters, that you compose, e.g. The Sky is blue! When you purchase online, at a participating merchant, you will be asked to submit your Password.

Before entering your Password, always look for your Personal Message on the screen. That way you will be sure that you are providing your Password to your bank.
